We decided to hit the road in our Nissan Titan. We have the Topper Lift and Modudeck which raises it up 18 inches and a tent system for a more comfortable night’s rest. Castle Lake Campground has 50 sites and their store has limited hours of operation which is fine for RVs but not if your are truck camping. I believe it is set up more for off-roading vehicles like Zephyrs, as there were a bunch of those. We did bike around the lake and it is quite remote and beautiful.
Thought you all might enjoy my attempt at poetry. It covers a few years of our camping together. I did color in the illustrations. Waking up to the sounds of screeching bats was a moment I’ll never forget. I wrote this of a poetry class where the challenge was to write a poem where something that literally could not happen happens, paying particular attention to line breaks. (See the first line)
This hike was near Castle Lake. We hiked 5 miles with 1500 feet of elevation on Camp Trail near our campground.
