Donna Fullerton- USMC
Born in Western North Carolina, Donna is a multifaceted artist whose experience spans more than three decades. With a background and education that range from music, photography, lost-wax bronze, and ceramic studies, her works are remarkably bold with painterly effects in oils, watercolors, inks, and whimsical ceramic sculpture.
In childhood, Donna began sketching animals she saw on the big screen. She loved spending time out-of-doors in the woods with her twin sister and their pets. In her youth, she lived abroad in Okinawa, Japan, and Santos, Brazil, where she developed a lifelong love of foreign art and music, especially the exuberant and colorful Brazilian Samba.
Donna met her husband, Steve, in 1986 at El Toro’s Marine Wing Communication Squadron 38, where they were both stationed. Since then, Steve has been instrumental in Donna’s continued pursuit of the arts, supporting her and being her biggest fan. He is her Sherpa, guide, and friendly art critic.
She lives in Grand Junction, CO, with Steve, their Aussie, Georgia, and two lazy cats.
